ABA submission on APRA Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book workshop

The Australian Banking Association (ABA) welcomes Australia Prudential Regulation Authority’s (APRA) ongoing and constructive engagement, and the opportunity to respond to the policy options on the revised draft Prudential Standard APS 117 Capital Adequacy: Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (APS 117), which were presented to industry on 18 May 2023. The ABA acknowledges the challenges in constructing an IRRBB framework that is stable yet risk sensitive and minimises the risks of unintended consequences. To assist APRA in finalising its position regarding the revised APS 117, the ABA provides the following feedback.

Data Standards Body (DSB) Non-Functional Requirements – Noting Paper 288 (Further Response)

Data Standards Body (DSB) Register Standards Revision – Noting Paper 289

The ABA has responded to the consultation by the Data Standards Body (DSB) seeking feedback on amendments to the CDR ecosystem’s Register Standards. The DSB also raised proposals for the consideration of non-Register use cases. The ABA has suggested that the immediate scope of any consultation on potential changes to the Register Standards should currently be limited to changes intended to increase trust and security and/or reduce ongoing maintenance costs and overheads.
