COVID-19 restrictions extended in NSW until Friday 9 July

26 June 2021

NSW has extended the lockdown today for 2 weeks until Friday 9 July.

The 2 week lockdown now extends to Greater Sydney, Wollongong, Blue Mountains and the Central Coast.

There are also new restrictions for regional NSW in terms of the 4 person per square meter rule, and in terms of masks in all indoor settings including workplaces.

We can confirm that banking is considered an essential service as per dot point one, and that workers can go to work if they cannot work from home as per dot point 4.

Everyone in Greater Sydney must stay at home unless it is for an essential reason.

The reasons you may leave your home include:

  • Shopping for food or other essential goods and services;
  • Medical care or compassionate needs (people can leave home to have a COVID-19 vaccination unless you have been identified as a close contact);
  • Exercise outdoors in groups of 10 or fewer;
  • Essential work, or education, where you cannot work or study from home.

There are no formal work permits in place.
