2020 Scams: by method, volume and per-scam value

$176 million reported lost to scams in 2020
- $176 million was reported as lost to scams in 2020 by scamwatch.org.
- $48 million over the phone, $34 million via email and $27 million via social media.
- More than 100,000 individual phone scams were reported to the ACCC.
- Per-scam, in-person scams proved to be the most lucrative, at an average of more than $6000.
